Ever experience the moment when a movie or show just speaks to you on a deeper level? Personally, I experienced that sensation with the Kill Bill series. This series ,written by Uma Thurman and Quinton Tarantino, first made its debut in 2003. Although it has been 14 years since its release, Kill Bill is still one of my all-time favorite movies. (It has also inspired a countless amount of cosplay.) I still watch both volume 1 and 2 at least once a year, and as a fan of this movie, I can tell you each time you watch it you notice something new. For instance, have you noticed how the cereal box in the fight scene between Black Mamba (Uma Thurman) & Copperhead (Vivica A Fox) foreshadows that there is a gun in the box?

Yep, there it is.
Anyways, this movie with all its gory goodness served more as just a cinematic masterpiece. In fact, it truly opened my eyes and many others to the fact that women can be action heroes too. Yea, there are other movies with female action heroes that save the world (Mulan), but Kill Bill was the first time I saw a woman kick butt without playing into typical actress archetypes in a live action movie on the big screen.

This movie broke many molds in terms of being a wildly successful Hollywood movie that had an amazingly diverse cast and an iconic plot. Additionally, the Kill Bill series had a great representation of a woman as an Anti-hero and championed representation with its diverse cast members. Kill bill allows for many of its viewers to see someone that represents them on screen and to awaken the inner action hero level of confidence within themselves.
